GAME GOALS

5 Card Solitaire is a unique blend of poker and solitaire, where you connect cards to create the required hands. Your goal is to create the required hands for each level, since that will allow you to catch the wanted gunmen that wander the streets.

The game starts out with a random selection of playing cards covering the board. Create poker hands by clicking cards that are next to each other. You need to select five cards, and you need at least a pair to submit the hand.

Each hand has a value that is based on how difficult it is to make in Poker. The aim is to make the most valuable hands possible in the ten hands you can create on each level.

GAME RULES

5 Card Solitaire blurs the boundaries between card games and other games. Snowflake cards and bomb cards are new in town, and you need to grab them as soon as possible! Create the 10 best poker hands on each level, and use your golden cards well.

This game uses an endless amount of cards, and is not limited to a single deck. Therefore, you can have two cards of the exact same colour and type on the board at the same time.

There are 10 different Poker hands that are possible to make, here they are listed in the order of value:

1 Pair 2 cards of the same value
2 Pairs 2 pairs of 2 cards of the same value
3 of a Kind 3 cards of the same value
Straight 5 cards in a number sequence; like 3-4-5-6-7
Flush 5 cards of the same suit
Full House A combination of one pair and one 3 of a Kind in the same hand
4 of a Kind 4 cards of the same value
Straight Flush 5 cards in a number sequence that are also of the same suit
Royal Flush 5 cards in a number sequence from Ace to 10, that are also of the same suit
Five of a Kind Created by making a 5 of a Kind using 5 cards of the same number
The game will automatically make the best possible hand indicated by the table above when you include a Wild Card.

The required hands are listed to your right. You need to create all these hands to complete the level. You can, however, make some hands that are more valuable than the ones listed and still get credit for it. This only applies to more valuable hands that include a lower value hand.

Handalso counts as
Full House Two pairs, Three of a kind
4 of a Kind Two pairs, three of a kind
Straight Flush Straight, Flush
Royal Flush Straight, Flush
5 of a Kind Four of a kind, three of a kind, two pairs, Full house

You will always start with ten hands on each level, but there is never ten required hands. The hands that are not required are still important for your score, but your main focus should be to make sure that the required hands are made.

In the first level, you will only encounter normal cards, from 2 to ace and wild cards.
Golden cards will start appearing on the second level, and will give you a 50% extra points for the hand they are part of.
Bomb cards start appearing on the second level, and need to be cleared in three rounds after they have appeared. If a bomb count downs to zero, it will explode, and the game will be over.
Snowflake cards will appear only on level 3. If you do not use a snowflake card right away, it will freeze. Frozen cards can only be thawed by creating a hand adjacent to it. Before the frozen card is thawed, it cannot be used in any way. A thawed card will freeze again if it is not used directly after it has been thawed.

GAME CONTROLS

Click a card to select it and click it again to deselect it. It will automatically be deselected if you select a card that is not connected to any of the previous ones. Note that you can use all cards that touch any other card, you don’t need to start at one card and click the others in sequence.

The hands you make will be presented in the bottom to aid you in your search for the best hand. The Wild cards will automatically be used for the best possible hand.

Click on the 'Submit' button in the bottom of the screen to confirm the hand you have created and get the score.

If you want to end the game prematurely then just press the End Game button.

STRATEGY

There are always many poker hands that can be created at any point, the key is to search for the really valuable hands.

Watch out for the freeze cards and the bombs. You don’t want to be in a tight spot because you let a bomb count to one!

TIPS FOR IMPROVING YOUR GAME

Some hands are more effective than others because of the cards they leave behind. Straights and flushes are not as good as you might think, since they use cards of different numbers and will disrupt your board, making it harder to make combinations later on.

Try to create a good, required hand with as many gold cards as possible in the last level. Remember that a straight that is required is worth more than a four of a kind that is not on the required-list!
